The Mineralogical Society of the UK and Ireland, also known as the MinSoc, is an international society for all those working in the mineral sciences. The Society aims to advance the knowledge of the science of mineralogy and its application to other subjects, including crystallography, geochemistry, petrology, environmental science and economic geology. The Society furthers its aims through scientific meetings and the publication of scientific journals, books and monographs. The Society publishes two journals, Mineralogical Magazine and Clay Minerals. Students receive the first year of membership free of charge. All members receive Elements.
