The Geochemical Society (GS) is a not-for-profit scientific organization founded to encourage the application of chemistry to the solution of geological and cosmological problems. Membership is international and diverse in background and includes thousands of scientists and students from around the world. The society promotes understanding of geochemistry through the annual Goldschmidt Conference, publication of a peer-reviewed journal and electronic newsletter, awards programs recognizing significant accomplishments in the field, and student development programs.
